Thesis | AEVITA: Designing Biomimetic Vehicle-to-Pedestrian Communication Protocols for Autonomously Operating & Parking On-Road Electric Vehicles.Responsible for electromechanical design and fabrication of various ½ -scale prototypes of the MIT Media Lab CityCar. Developed a robotic electric vehicle platform integrating various sensor and actuator arrays to augment vehicle’s autonomous capabilities, with thesis work focusing on biomimetic communication protocols between unoccupied autonomous vehicles and pedestrians (ÆVITA – Autonomous Electric Vehicle Interaction Testing Array). Continued engineering consultant on Hiriko project. Advised and managed undergraduate design team consisting of 6 engineers/designers.

Spain-based corporate sponsor of the Media Lab took the CityCar EV concept towards commercialization for the EU. Worked primarily on redesigning the folding chassis of the ½-scale prototypes into full-scale manufacturable components. Designs ranged from carbon fiber monocoques to forged/stamped sub-assemblies. Team consisted of research group colleagues and F1/LMP1 motorsport engineers.

Lead undergraduate designer working with graduate student team tasked to develop a fully functional ½-scale, omnidirectional, folding electric vehicle (CityCar), working under the Smart Cities group. Designed the complete folding chassis and omnidirectional wheel units, and assisted in the specification/fabrication of most of the other vehicle body and drivetrain components and systems.

Worked alongside engineers in developing full scale mechanical, electrical & plumbing [MEP] plans for several large housing developments, government buildings, and private projects throughout Jamaica. Emphasis was placed on integrating renewable energy solutions.
