The Oysterhaven Centre is a family run centre in County Cork the Republic of Ireland. It is the home of windsurf tuition in Ireland founded in 1981. The centre has developed its business over the years and evolved into the most premier Multi Activity Centre in Ireland with schools coming from all over the Republic for their school tour! When the summer gets into swing the centre runs Skills and Multi Activity Courses for children from the age of 4-18. My role as Chief Instructor includes:-Daily Programmes:- Programme Planning- Co-ordinate instructor briefing sheet- Equipment Allocation- Duties – Ensure that all daily duties have been completed to standard by all instructorsInstructors- Recruitment & Training of Instructors- Rostering- Briefings- Staff appearance and punctualityCustomer Care- Ensure that the highest levels of customer care are maintainedSafety & Standards- Risk assessments- Ensuring safety procedures and standard operating procedures are being adhered to.Equipment- Ensure all kit is maintained- Monitor defects book- Quarantine defective kit- Stock Control

Sail Nassau was an exciting company that gave people the chance to sail the high powered International Americas Cup Class (IACC) Racing boats. My roles as Skipper included;Training and overseeing crew in all aspects of the operation from guest relations to technical sailing and repair/maintenance skills.Captain, in a safe and sea-man like manner the yachts and chase boats owned by the company.Tactically race IACC 76’ yachtsBriefing crew and clients on the sailing programmes and races, and maintaining a running dialogue with the same.Ensuring that the vessels meet and exceed regulatory and insurance requirements.Developing and executing planned maintenance programmes, including project management of annual refits.Organisation of day-to-day logistics, including scheduling of trips, crew, vessel movements, etc.Implementing effective strategies for de-risking the on-the-water operations and dealing with emergency situations.Oversee/effect repairs under demanding deadlines. Leading and motivating staff & Crew.Finding ways to improve the offering to clients and the operational efficiency of the company.Develop and implement effective and efficient systems for handling maintenance functions of the company.Identifying ways to leverage the core product to produce compelling value-added offers to customers and delivering them, e.g. branding, merchandising, team clothing, events, etc.Developing and executing efficient marketing strategies that target potential customers effectively.Developing and maintaining excellent relationship with wholesalers (Destination Management Companies, Meeting and Incentive Planners, Resort Management and sales personnel).
