- $10,00 in grants to work on a project with Dr. Luiza Antoine, to develop a deepalgorithm that can link personal records of many sets of census data.- I developed a similarity metric to distinguish if similar surname pairs were typos or froma completely different source. I used deep siamese neural networks and LSTM cells tocreate a vectorized representation of each name. We could then measure distancecosine between pairs to determine similarity.- Writing paper with the intent to be presented at the Canadian AI conference (current).- Required sharp mathematical skills to devise creative and statistically sound ways ofmeasuring similarity on abstract data.

- $9,000 in total grants to develop deep learning solutions in fields of visual salience.- Using attention-based deep visual transformers, I was able to create an algorithm toparse global scene information and predict probabilistic paths that human eyes travelwhile analyzing a scene.- Research with the intent to improve robotic scene understanding in an efficient human-like manor. Applications in fields like search and rescue, and general sceneunderstanding.- Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas with collaborators was a necessary facet to achieving great results.- Use of both Tensorflow and PyTorch on CUDA enabled GPUs to create our solution.- Worked with mentor, Dr. Neil Bruce.- Writing paper with the intent to be published in journals (current).
