Natalie Shaw BA (Hons) Dance, RAD TC, AISTD, ALAM, RSADirector/Principal of NVSDD & Envy Performing Arts. Winner - Dance School of the Year Awards 2017 Teacher of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap & LAMDA/DramaMy early dance training was with Ruth French at the RAD, Maria Fay (London School of Contemporary Dance) & the schools of Dame Merle Park & Bette Bayliss. From the age of 16 I trained at Bush Davies School of Theatre Arts where I achieved the Vocational RAD, ISTD and LAMDA Examinations plus teaching qualifications in Dance and Drama and 3 A’Levels. I went on to attain an Honours Degree 2:1 from West Sussex in Dance and Related Arts. After a few years working in the Film Industry, I began my teaching career at Heathfield School in Ascot plus a number of other schools in the Surrey/Berks area. In my 24 year career I have taught many genres, including Dance GCSE, Creative Dance, Ballet, Modern, Tap, Drama GCSE, LAMDA, Musical Theatre, Pointe-work, Jazz & Aerobics. I have also mentored RAD Diploma students. NVSDD opened in Ascot in 1992 & has grown considerably with over 450 students currently attending classes each week. A second branch of the school - Envy Performing Arts - was set up to provide tuition within Schools. I have choreographed and performed in shows professionally & at local level, including works for Youth Dance Companies and professional skaters. Students have raised nearly £25K for Charity and many have performed in theatres locally & in the West End. Former pupils have gone to full time vocational college, to study the Performing Arts at Degree Level & to work professionally in theatre, film & TV.At NVSDD & Envy Performing Arts we encourage the best in every student, helping them to gain confidence, coordination, musicality & poise.
