As the Senior Software Engineer at the company, I was hired to join a team of 3 to help HIVED develop its software from no/low-code solutions into enterprise software architecture that would enable the company to scale.Introduced concepts such as Domain-Driven Design and rigorous testing alongside patterns such as Hexagonal Architecture and The Transactional Outbox Pattern.During my 6 months at HIVED, lead the design and implementation of a new B2B authentication system designed around Amazon Cognito, and helped design and implement a Notifications service, which delivered 100,000 SMS/Email notifications per day.Grew the technology team by conducting technical and system design interviews.Developed junior team members through line management and mentoring.

Over the past 2 years at Cazoo I have been the Senior Software Engineer on the Yard Management team. Our mission is to know the location of tens of thousands of vehicles as they move across the UK & Europe. We accomplish our mission using a serverless solution built from the ground-up on AWS Lambda, DynamoDB and S3. Our solution fits into the broader event-driven Cazoo architecture to seamlessly provide accurate vehicle location data to the entire business.Some highlights are: • Over the 2 year period, designed a system that was capable of seamlessly supporting a 300% increase in daily vehicle distribution volume.• Designed & delivered an IoT system using QR and RFID scanning which reduced monthly stock audit costs by 93%. Reducing the rate of stock checks from 0.5 vehicles per minute, to 50 vehicles per minute.• Developed a software system that began as a series of manual spreadsheet ingestions, into a core operational tool.Other responsibilities include: coaching engineers, architecting new solutions, and collaborating closely with Product teams.

At ASOS, I was a member of the Content Platform team, responsible for all content-manageable pages that span the ASOS brand. The Content Platform team owned all pages that were not a part of the core e-commerce journey, this includes the ASOS homepages, Customer Care pages, various marketing and competition pages and a whole host of others.During my time at ASOS, I worked on many high-traffic areas of the site, including: • The latest homepage rebuilds, pages which received around 2 million page views per day.• Numerous custom competitions that allow users to sign-up and win various prizes. Along with custom dashboards to allow marketing staff to monitor engagement.• Created and maintained a Node backend service that processed and persisted user data for various ASOS competitions.• Oversaw a transition in tech stack from jQuery and HTML to a full React frontend• Oversaw a focus on accessibility across ASOS, until the team achieved a AAA compliance rating
