I have brought multiple companies to life as full Internet participants, including the Vancouver Internet Exchange as founding Chairman. I also built and still maintain the network for Skyway West, one of Western Canada’s longest serving ISPs, founded in 1995.As an information technology professional, I’m highly skilled in Network Design, Cisco/Juniper & OSS products, Data Centres, Virtualization, BGP, IPv6 and network programming. ChairmanVancouver Internet Exchange (Vanix) Oct 2013 - May 2017Vancouver, BcAs a Volunteer, I engaged the two "legacy" Internet Exchange Points in Vancouver; Peer1 and BCNET - and formed a committee to merge the two into a new entity, VANIX.I build the new Exchange with the help of a small group of other volunteers, and recruited a set of Directors for a new Non Profit Corporation, The Vancouver Internet Exchange. As Founding Chairman, I brought the organization through its first two AGMs and into a self-sustaining position, at the same time serving on the Technical Committee to build out the Exchange to four separate locations, and arranged for Secure Route Servers. I liaised with ARIN for organization resources (IP/ASN) and enlisted 56 participants. I stepped down from my duties in 2017 as I felt that my purpose had been fulfilled.
