Attendees: 250 pax approx.November 2008 - for Ultimate Communications: Project Director, Science Foundation Ireland Science Summit 2008, Kilkenny. Attendees: 450 pax approx.

This position was created specifically for producing the launch of The Pearl Room - a high roller room that cost AUD$36m to refurbish.Opened by media mogul James Packer, who flew in straight from Tom Cruises wedding to attend the event and hosted Perth's social elite who enjoyed a night of extravaganza and entertainment.

This role gave me opportunity to produce events across Australia, New Zealand and a roadshow through Asia.Compared to Europe, weather was rarely a cause for concern, so there were a lot more outdoor events and just different types of events.One of the biggest events I produced while working for GPJ was IBM Forum, which was IBM Australasia's largest event for 2004, an 8-city roadshow through Australia and New Zealand.I produced many other IBM events, plus car launches and reveals for both media and dealers.

Venue Operations Manager for four of the venues used for the Summer Olympics for the Special Olympics - Dublin City University (also an accommodation venue); ALSAA; National Convention Centre and Sportslink.This role involved planning the use of each venue, through to building the volunteer teams, training them and troubleshooting along the way.

I compiled and delivered a live radio report every two weeks for Echoes of Erin Irish radio programme going out in Pittsburgh, Penn.The report was to include what was happening in Ireland at the time, what was in the news, what was being talked about and most importantly, what was going on in Irish Sport! I had no knowledge of Gaelic Football or hurling prior to doing this show so had to learn about the scoring and the leading teams. It was around a 10 minute slot with some Q&A at the end, with Diane Byrnes.

I was a wedding planner in Ireland when it was a very new concept. It was fantastic to get to work in the lovely castles, country houses and unusual venues Ireland has to offer. I received a lot of media exposure from the newspapers - Sunday Business Post, Irish Independent and Irish Times, to radio interviews and also featured on a Discovery Channel documentary on Dublin and Celtic Cubs, called 'Taxi'. Was interesting to come across it on tv in Sydney a few years later!

Project manager for Opportunities 2000, Ireland's largest jobs fair for over 100,000 attendees.The fair included over 120 exhibitors, 3 days of sessions plus training courses throughout.

Started as Project Co-ordinator for Microsoft's Tech.Ed, held in Nice. This event was for 3,000pax the first year and 4,000pax the second year.Excellent introduction to the wild and wonderful world of events - and this gave me a great platform for understanding how different components come together under one banner and also how to work within large and small teams.
