I have formal education and work experience in many fields, including winemaking, hospitality, management, marketing, communications, languages, art and biology. I have developed a global perspective growing up and working between Napa Valley, Chianti, Burgundy and Douro Valley. With a passion for the exciting and interdisciplinary wine industry, I travel and taste the world, inspired by authentic people, stories and wines that represent their terroir. Since graduating with an International Masters in Wine Tourism and Innovation, I have focused on developing sustainable infrastructure and marketing that showcases old world wine regions' traditional products, authentic culture and unique histories alongside innovation that keeps them up to date with the wine tourist's evolving expectations.I hone this focus as Marketing Manager, Brand Ambassador and "Jack of all Trades" (as is commonplace in passionate family businesses!) at Quinta do Tedo, in Portugal's beautiful and burgeoning Douro Valley. I also feed my creativity and continuous thirst for new experiences and self-taught knowledge by making a small amount of my own minimal intervention white wine in Portugal's prestigious yet untapped Dão region. Amongst other things I enjoy are walking until my feet hurt, cooking to Paul Simon, autumn colours, synonyms, drawing, and exploring connections with people from completely different backgrounds.

WinemakerGamine Rose Wines Sep 2021 - PresentPortugalI launched my personal wine label, Gamine Rose, in July 2023 - the result of my first solo harvest in 2021.After years visiting beautiful wine regions, meeting inspiring winemakers, sharing wonderful bottles, debating vinous theories and working sleepless harvests, it was time to put my experience to the test, commandeering my own harvest instead of someone else's.While I only made 800 bottles, I didn't make them "easy" - I wanted to tease out the honest and diverse expressions of my favourite Portuguese white grape, Encruzado, using minimal intervention winemaking in a cocciopesto amphora, a neutral French oak barrel and a stainless steel tank.Native yeast fermented and aged for 10 months in these three different vessels, and since July 2022 in bottle, I made two blends. Petite Cuvée - 60% stainless steel with a touch of barrel and amphora - is crisp and crushable but serious, showcasing Encruzado's iconic citrus, stone fruit and mineral profile. Grande Cuvée - 60% amphora and 40% barrel - is more complex, saline and round, with great texture and an acidic focal point, and will open up with every subsequent sip... if you have the patience. This year, 2023, you can look forward to Gamine Rose's first red Douro field blend and more Encruzado - stay tuned!
