LUX, openend in 2000 by Catharine Deneuve, presents arthouse movies on eight screens, has a theatre for performing arts and is a debate centre. LUX has a 'grand-café' and a restaurant in Villa LUX. LUX is also home theatre for Go Short. Every year more than 200.000 visitors buy a film ticket at LUX. The organization had severe financial problems. After a reorganization and the selling of a 'bleeding' location, LUX is a healthy organization, crucial for the cultural climate in the city of Nijmegen.
