Future Cities Nigeria (FCN) is funded by the UK FCO and implemented by a consortium of international organizations led by Adam Smith International. FCN is part of the £80 million Global Future Cities Prosperity Fund programme which is carrying out targeted interventions in 19 selected cities across 10 countries to address barriers to prosperity and trade. FCN’s interventions are in the urban and transport sectors in Lagos and Abeokuta. I am engaged as an Urban Development Expert on the Lagos Urban sector intervention. While the main output is the production of an Urban Renewal Guideline that will enable the Lagos State Government to achieve SDG 11, the success of the project is hinged on effectively stakeholders' engagement towards achieving a consensus across board about the principles that should be included in the urban renewal guideline. I am playing a leading role in this respect, by combining my technical knowledge of the urban sector, institutional knowledge of Lagos and effective stakeholder engagement.

My duties include:• Undertaking site visitation and site inventory. • Gathering of baseline data as well as relevant information such as procurement of maps and satellite imageries.• Designing site layout plans with other team members, as well as, producing technical reports to support our proposals.• Monitoring and supervision of development project along with other senior officer to ensure they adhere to planning standard.• Acting as liaison officer between the department and, contractors and consultants undertaking different projects for and with the department.• Liaising with communities members and other public stakeholders affected by proposed activities of the department.• Liaison with other government agencies to gather information and monitor progress of mails or projects we undertake that requires their input.• Assisting contractors and consultants to resolve bottlenecks.• Scheduling meetings with other government agencies and relevant stakeholders.• Taking minutes of meetings and producing reports.• Producing power-point presentations.
