Broadcasting from London, New York, Mumbai, Seoul, Johannesburg, Brussels, Kyoto, Berlin, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Paris, Rio, Detroit, Tokyo, Istanbul and beyond.

I managed Somethin' Else's BBC Radio 1 specialist portfolio, working with a team of producers, DJs and curators to cover cutting-edge music from electronic to rock and metal. I previously managed late night BBC 1Xtra specialist output and I also produced Gilles Peterson's BBC 6 Music weekly programme.As well as devising new formats, concepts and pitching for programme commissions, my duties ranged from implementing a broader editorial and operational overview for the shows I looked after to hands on production of well-crafted audio features and shooting and editing film.

I produced weekly specialist shows for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, programming and managing Radio 1's Residency and heading up production and contracts for a range of other production strands.Some highlights from this time include delivering 'Next Generation Live'​, a video series combining Grime artists with live Orchestral players; leading production on 1Xtra's 'D&B Soundclash'​, which was nominated for a BBC Award for its technical approach; and relaunching Radio 1's Residency, which became a key destination for electronic music. I also led on video production for the BRIT Awards 2015.I am also a filmmaker, and in addition to extracurricular experimental music videos, have directed, shot and edited sessions with many artists from Sun Ra Arkestra to Jessy Lanza.

I worked on specialist BBC Radio 1 shows including Gilles Peterson, In New DJs We Trust, Judge Jules and The Essential Mix. Worked on a number of OBs for Radio 1, assisting in the production of events including Big Weekend, Live In Sheffield and Creamfields Festival.I regularly covered production duties on BBC 1Xtra shows for the likes of Crissy Criss, DJ Q and Young Lion, and gained experience of producing internationally syndicated shows, including Gilles Peterson's JWave show in Japan.I worked on attachment with the Somethin' Else Digital Team, researching and ultimately pitching concepts relating to multiplatform radio innovation.

I reviewed, interviewed and uncovered the latest new talent in Scotland for The Scotsman's 'Under The Radar' segment, focusing specifically on electronic and dance music.Subjects included new band profiles, upcoming gig picks and the odd album release. I have also written for The List, Vice Magazine, and held the position of music editor for student publication The Journal.

I created jingles, sweepers, adverts and trails for Edinburgh's Student Radio Station from 2009-2010, becoming proficient in the use of Logic Studio, Ableton, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition and Cubase.I arranged a hierarchy of Producers, meaning that every show on the station was streamlined and supervised, improving the quality of output, administrative flow and offering learning and development opportunities for Fresh Air and its Members.

I worked for Edinburgh's award-winning digital agency, Storm ID, and sister web applications developer, Storm Ideas. Spent a lot of time researching and talking about crowd-sourcing, social media applications and online mapping systems.

After an internship at Galaxy Scotland through Global Academy in the Summer, I had opportunities to work in both Tech Ops and Producer roles at the station across late night Specialist Music, Breakfast and Drive Time shows.Duties involved editing audio, broadcast ops, devising content and ensuring network continuity.

Straight out of University and in foreign (Scottish) climes, I was taken on as Broadcast Assistant at Scotland's only commercial talk radio station, went on to Produce Drive Time show until station closure in December 2008. Key roles included editing audio, developing and devising content, broadcast ops, guest booking, and sourcing/loading up music really quickly!

Reporting to Brand Manager at Ernst & Young UK HQ, I was responsible for a study into using Facebook to recruit graduates, briefing for journalist enquiries and responding to daily coverage.After the Summer Break, I went back to University with renewed vigour and completed my degree with first class honours. Then, back to the world of work and radio.
