I worked at ICON plc, whose mission is to help clients to accelerate the development of drugs and devices that save lives and improve quality of life.As a senior manager within the Strategic Programs group, I was the Applications lead for a major IT integration project, with 1 Project Manager and 2 Principle Engineers reporting to me.I delivered end-to-end integrated Microsoft Azure platform from PRA tenant to ICON tenant, which included infrastructure server services, critical core applications development (SaaS), IAM and network systems and enterprise services, resulting in license savings of $100k+ as well as improved perception of employee integration.I led a review and data gathering of 1500+ applications across 2 large legacy organisations, resulting in 100 applications being marked for immediate retirement, generating immediate savings of $200k+.I was responsible for managing downstream impacts of HR Workday changes across multiple cross-company applications. Worked with necessary development, support, and business teams to ensure no impact to applications post go-live through MS Teams meetings, testing on lower environments when required, change documentation and runbook generation. This resulted in a saving of 3 weeks of business teams time and effort as issues were identified pre-go-live and not post-go-live as previously happened.Successfully rolled out enterprise applications for HR, Legal and Procurement Departments to new merged company employees, resulting in savings of $50k as old systems were retired and enabling 20k new employees to follow existing processes.Rollout of standard image in pilot to staff which included arranging with senior business leaders for POC business groups, testing, defect monitoring and follow up with users and appropriate IT teams, such as Networks, IT Security & Application Support to resolve defects. 150 staff received new image with 0 reported issues post go-live.

Technical Support Manager responsible for the management of a global team of 15 Application Services technicians, based in Ireland, India, US, UK, South Korea, and Philippines supporting over 50 applications with a user base of 12k staff.I was Service Manager for a wide variety of departments, including Finance, HR, Medical Imaging, Data Warehousing, Reporting, Clinical and Data Management with at least monthly service meetings held with respective departments.I was responsible for the restructuring of the Global Application Services team and developing incident and resource management processes to enable better support coverage, resulting in improved SLAs by 5% and reduced P1s by 10% and freeing up resources by 15% . I lead the resource management within the Global Application Support team, ensuring that applications and projects were resourced appropriately.I developed the application portfolio management process by ensuring applications no longer in use were retired, resulting in 90 applications being retired in year 1 with savings of $200k. I attended client and SOX audits, ensuring evidence requested by auditors was provided, as well as ensuring audit findings / recommendations were addressed in timely manner. 0 critical audit findings were reported, and the SOX applications I was responsible for were deemed SOX compliant over course of 6 years I was managing them.I was responsible for the budgeting with respect to licensing costs on multiple applications as well as in terms of contract resources.I managed a global team with regular 1-1s and staff performance reviews. I was a mentor to all my staff, with 5 of my team now at manager or above levels within IT.I created a knowledge base process for the support team which in turn was utilized by Service Desk with the result of reducing the time to resolve known issues for end users.
