Pic-Nic is a blueprint for an evolutionary new social network devised by Pete Lawrence. Pete is best known for The Big Chill, which spawned a ground-breaking festival. Funded, owned, and shaped by its members, we hope to become a catalyst for new ideas, initiatives, collaborations, and a hub for creativity.

Spain

I took a world-renowned creative photographer with a hectic international schedule who specialises in training and professional mentoring photographers. I worked with him to organise and script his training content into a format that would work as an interactive media piece. Our goal was to produce the best photography training video on the market. Launched initially on DVD, later as podcasts, and then as a full spec membership site. Digital Photographer magazine awarded it 92% in its review (May 2008), the highest rating achieved by any training film to date.

Spain

Before the channel launched in May 2007, it needed exciting new content to fill its schedule and attract new viewers. I researched documentary opportunities in the Malaga and Granada province, focusing on telling stories about personal experiences of life in a new country. I produced two inspiring programmes about a world-class Luthier and a singer/songwriter/musician within tight budgets, achieving high audience ratings. One became a flagship programme broadcast frequently on the channel throughout its first year.

Spain

VideoJug aims to provide clear step-by-step multi-platform instructions on how to do almost anything. I synchronised with a network of freelancers and in house staff comprising the talent, production and technical teams, helping launch the Spanish operation of this now-huge cross-platform content provider. I researched, co-scripted and produced a series of video pilots designed and implemented an online media workflow and a QC process for output across various media. One of our pilots received 5-star reviews from end-users and was Editor’s Choice for several weeks, up against a vast range of competing media.
