I once thought that my dream was to be a university scholar, digging through archives, teaching and writing books about history, culture and society. It seemed like an appropriate dream given my MA in American Studies from the University of Texas and my PhD in History from the University of Southern Denmark. But gradually, I started fantasizing about changing my career path, growing a new dream and learning something else working with different people.I decided to venture into communications and advertising. A bold CEO of an advertising agency decided to give me a shot as a copywriter, and from there I started learning about teamwork, copywriting and even HR. My clients were companies that needed help to craft strategies and communication that aimed to stimulate engagement and make them more attractive employers.I later became an inhouse consultant, first as an expert and later as a people leader. I loved being in it for the long haul, and my combined passion became leadership and talent acquisition. It was a dream come true. One of the highlights in my corporate career was becoming a 'virtual' leader and leading a dispersed team in the Nordics and Baltics. Another highlight was establishing and running the first-ever talent acquisition team in Danske Bank.I left the corporate world in 2022 to pursue another dream and strike out as an independent consultant within talent acquisition, employer branding and what I call candidate experience design. My business is to help companies attract, hire, on-board and engage new talents at a challenging time where people's career hopes are changing and where the competition for talent often seems to outstrip supply.My clients have included companies such as Danfoss, HOFOR, BK Medical and Metroselskabet, I simply love my job and helping companies from different industries, addressing different challenges and coming up with different solutions, usually from a starting point where I champion inclusive and candidate-centric employer branding, recruitment and on-boarding.
