About Oleksandr Teliuk
I'm a film archivist, curator and artist.As a film archivist and programmer, I worked at the Dovzhenko Center, the Ukrainian state film archive, and curated numerous film programs of Ukrainian archival cinema at international film festivals. Particularly, I was a co-curator of film programs and exhibitions at the Film Museum of Dovzhenko Center:- ‘VUFKU: Lost & Found’ (2019, https://vufku.org/en/vufku/), - ‘To Cry! To Call! To Burn!’ (2020) - 'The River Wailed Like a Wounded Beast’ (2023, 2024, https://dovzhenkocentre.org/en/exhibition/the-river-wailed-like-a-wounded-beast/#)Also, I was co-editor of books - ‘Cinematographic Revision of Donbas’ (2017, 2018), - ‘Chornobyl (In)Visible’ (2017), - ‘Ukrainian Film Critic Anthology of the 1920s’ (2018—2022).I was a laureate of the ‘Kinokolo’ national award in the ‘Achievements’ category for the - series of film screenings ‘Strange, Chimeric, Fantastic’ (2022, together with Stanislav Bytyutkyi and Aliona Penzii),- educational project 'How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Ukrainian Cinema' (2023, together with Stanislav Bytyutkyi, Olena Honcharuk, Oleh Olifer and Aliona Penzii).As an artist and director, I took part in many film festivals (FIDMarseille; Oberhausen; Glasgow; Docudays UA; Molodist and others), and exhibitions ('Unfolding Landscapes', Silkeborg; 'antiwarcoalition.art', Kyiv; 'Chain Reaction', Rome, Bratislava; 'To Watch the War', Wintertour; 'Heart of Earth', Kyiv).
