Responsibilities:Design, development, maintenance, and refactoring of a backend part for a set of services that provide, manage, and deploy virtual environments for end users (both separate VMs and VM clusters).Accomplishments:• implemented unit tests using pytest and provided 100% coverage for a legacy Python codebase of an internal VM management service;• migrated NTP and DNS services from Azure VMs to Azure Container Apps for a project that manages creation, setup, and deployment of virtual machines in a cluster;• conducted several dozens technical interviews for SDE positions (full range from junior to senior engineers) for several different projects.

Responsibilities:Development, maintenance, and refactoring of a backend part for Paxful — a platform for peer-to-peer cryptocurrency transactions.Accomplishments:• designed and developed notification system for a cryptocurrency trading service that allowed contacting the user via email, SMS, mobile and web push notifications, and in-service messages;• redesigned and refactored a Django microservice providing user authentication and authorization;• performed on-call duties such as monitoring and real-time issue investigation and resolving;• introduced automatic formatting, linting, and type checking to the project’s processes.

Responsibilities: tech lead at the project for ML-assisted annotation of scientific oncological data — abstracts and perspective drugs researches. I was later moved to another project to develop and maintain an universal dataflow pipeline, processing oncological patients' analyses and samples data.Accomplishments:• introduced the formal development process, built the deployment pipeline, and implemented the best practices for unit testing and automatic code linting;• reduced the processing time from 4 hours to ~100 minutes (i. e. pure ML time): refactored the external data parsing, dropped the overall parsing algorithm complexity from cubic to constant;• took away the heavy-load ML from the main pipeline to the separate Kubernetes on-demand job.

Responsibilities: design, development, maintenance, and refactoring of a backend part for Tinkoff Journal — the largest Russian online media about personal finances. I was also responsible for the team growth and development.Accomplishments:• refactored a module for filtering and displaying the articles; the module was used across the whole journal: main sections, recommendations block, and in-article incuts as well;• changed the data model structure, optimized database requests, unified articles visual representation, parametrized data serialization; later moved the whole module to asynchronous framework;• refreshed and improved articles recommendations block, providing multilevel fine-tuning support;• created DSL for the recommendations system to control external data sources, internal content, and articles representation at once;• refactored text search, moving from ElasticSearch to internal PostgreSQL trigram module; while it has not improved the search results per se, it has dramatically reduced the service load and search maintenance costs;• developed a statistics service for storage and processing of articles metadata: views, reactions, and interactive publications statistics;• moved RSS to a dedicated service, adapted it to a new async backend.

Responsibilities: design, development, and maintenance of a unified web/mobile backend for Perekrestok — the largest supermarket chain in Russia.Accomplishments:• refactored the module for user authorisation;• provided integration with an advertising network Admitad;• developed a supplementary GeoIP-microservice for automatical user geolocation.

Responsibilities: design, development, external integration, and maintenance of internal web services.Accomplishments:• designed and developed a backend part of a newly created in-house CRM;• automated visualization of company structure changes;• implemented RBAC for the CRM, providing per-field data and metadata access control;• planned, prepared and performed migration from RT to Jira by implementing the necessary REST API endpoints and automating data loading to Confluence;• created a software module for Request Tracker system integration with Crucible code review system.

Responsibilities: development and maintenance of Testing Portal — a web service for automated testing of Loewe TV sets.Accomplishments:• updated and refactored the codebase: moved from Python 2.7 to 3.4, and from Django 1.6 to 1.8;• automated local deployment of the service;• unified several dozens of testing scripts, and created a single parametrized one instead;• created tree-based hierarchy for automated tests and the corresponding web interface;• developed isolated sandbox for autotests creation and debugging (also available via web interface);• integrated the service with an in-house monitoring tool.

Responsibilities: implementation and adaptation of Linux-based firmware for IPTV set-top boxes based on ARM and MIPS architectures.Accomplishments:• unified and standardized firmware codebase for all the supported set-top box models, added support for a new model (TVIP S-400);• prepared the codebase for transition from native custom firmware to a vendor-provided JavaScript API.

Responsibilities: implementation of a data pipeline receiving, processing, and transmitting photo and video data from a drone to a ground-based cockpit.Accomplishments:• developed a pipeline for an ARM Cortex-A8 singleboard computer (Gumstix Overo FireSTORM) to control media streaming from a webcam (Logitech C920);• fine-tuned gstreamer settings and drone wireless access point parameters to provide minimum latency in case of connection loss or camera mode switching;• set up a minimal Linux distro to use it as a ground-based cockpit interface.
