My Current duties and responsibilities include: Providing specialist advice and expertise on Environmental Protection issues, such as noise, contaminated land, and drainage for the team and external agencies.Investigating complaints, initiating and carrying out enforcement action in respect of all legislation within the remit of the Environmental Health Section, and attending Court and representing the Council in enforcement proceedings if necessary.Assisting in professional training of colleagues, trainees and students.Liaising on behalf of the Council with representatives of other LAs, statutory agencies, and other external organisations and agencies with an interest in delivering all of the Environmental Protection services. Responding to EIR requests received from members of the public and other agencies.Providing advice and guidance to Planning officers with respect to the development of land affected by contamination and respond to enquiries received as part of Local Land Charge Searches with respect to land contamination.Investigating & carrying out operational inspections, monitoring, sampling and other checks of premises, persons, and processes subject to all environmental health legislation, but specifically to in relation to Environmental Protection. Responding to Licensing Consultations and attend Licensing Committee on behalf of Environmental Protection.Responding to all planning application enquiries as required.Maintaining my expertise whilst participating in the professional development of officers within the Environmental Health Section.
