After graduation in 2015 with a first in English and German Literature, I completed the two year TeachFirst Leadership Development Programme as an English teacher at Carter Community School. In my second year at this school, I was appointed Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator.I moved to Sherfield School in Sept 2017 and was appointed Head of English in May 2018.In Sept 2019, I became Head of English at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, where I undertook training to become an Astra/Bucks Leader in Education (formerly an SLE). I was nominated staff governor with a focus on Teaching and Learning, and used my knowledge and passion in this area to take on the role of Initial Teacher Training Co-ordinator (ITTCo) in Sept 2022. Seeking a new challenge, I was appointed Head of English at Wallingford School in Sept 2023. In this role, I am implementing new, research-informed department practices, overhauling the taught curriculum and developing a new, whole-school IT strategy.With leadership experience across a range of educational contexts, I am effective at identifying areas for improvement and implementing improved practices, on both a department and whole-school level. I am an ambitious and forward-thinking leader, with a passion for teaching and learning and fostering academic excellence.
