I have been ACA qualified since 2004, and have held commercial finance roles since 2006, having joined my first WPP agency from PwC. I have a finance and accountancy background, but am most interested in working with colleagues from a commercial perspective to drive profitability and growth.I have led the commercial relationship on major clients for both my WPP operating companies (e.g. Unilever, Mondelez, Netflix, Nokia, Shell, Novartis, Ford Europe) and for WPP (Nokia, IAG/BA).This has covered contract and pricing negotiation; incentive modelling; contract implementation, adherence & audits; internal reporting and commercial strategic support; co-ordination across WPP OpCos; client profitability analysis and improvement; forecasting; pitching; and presenting to top level management at OpCo level, and senior WPP leaders.Key achievements in my commercial roles include: - Finance Leadership of a UK Ogilvy unit with a headcount of close to 100. - Closing contract and pricing negotiations and subsequent contract extensions on major clients. - Managing the implementation of re-negotiated global pricing models and contracts, while working with local offices to introduce new ways of working to maintain sustainable margins. - Finance lead for global and local unit pitches (largest win for an initial $40m annualised fee, grown to $70m at peak) - Finance and Commercial support for the roll out of a new global engagement to 30 countries. - Leading for my WPP OpCo in internal group negotiations to create the EMEA version of a combined Mindshare, Ogilvy and Wunderman unit for a specific client. - A key member of the team that created the content and platform for the global Ogilvy training programme ‘Commercial Competence’, which was rolled out on 2019 and was subsequently picked up by other WPP operating companies.
