As of October 2024 I have joined Benchmark Capital in the financial services sector as an Operations Associate within their Funding and Disbursements team. I am looking forward to improving my skills as well as developing new ones at Benchmark Capital. I am a recent graduate of the University of Sussex, having obtained a degree in BSc Business Management Studies with Legal Studies in June 2023.During my first year of University, I used my organisational, innovative, and communications skills to help lead my team to come fourth overall in the year for a business simulation project worth up to 60% of the module, making sure the quality of the presentation and actions taken in the simulation kept to the same consistent high quality. Before making decisions in the simulation a thorough risk analysis of potential options going forward was also needed to be conducted, and this was done efficiently. I also ended up coordinating with my fellow teammates and delegating tasks in the project outlining my leadership skills.Another module at the University gave me insight into all of the functions and activities of managing and planning a project, in which I had to create a project plan. Here is some feedback from my assessor for this assignment summarised: “The project plan achieved across-the-board excellence, garnering outstanding feedback. Demonstrated proficiency in project foundation, stakeholder management, scope, schedule, budget, risk, and evaluation/control. It is noteworthy for its outstanding coherence, professionalism, and persuasive presentation, making it highly convincing and apt to inspire confidence and investment”. This experience underscores my ability to excel in various facets of project management within academic settings, laying a solid foundation for real-world applications. Whilst completing University I have also maintained a part-time/full-time job at Tesco, where I have worked for them in multiple locations in the UK since 2018. As a Customer Assistant and Store Forum Representative, I developed strong organizational and communication skills while balancing customer enquiries and stock replenishment. I provided outstanding customer service, maintained attention to detail, and managed time efficiently. Upon moving to university, I adapted to a new team and systems at a different store. In my role as Store Forum Representative, I have attended quarterly meetings addressing colleague issues and nationwide updates, including regional forum meetings with the Regional Manager.
