The entry requirements were to submit a small piece of written content onto the Wireless Magazine facebook page. The brief was to explain why I deserved a trip around the world; the posts would then be offered to the public and whoever obtained the most likes would win the contest. Many submissions told sad stories, some focused on brutal honesty, however I decided to use humour hoping to engage with the readership. After 7 days I **WON** the contest. My nearest competitor was over 100 likes behind. I did not plan on taking a career break, however some of life's best opportunities are based on luck and the ability to make the most of opportunities as they arise. Travelling not only improved my sense of self, it improved my cultural awareness, independence and love for getting lost.
