Head of Academic Partnerships is a new leadership role within the V&A Research Institute, National Art Library and Archives team that recognizes the V&A’s important role in designing research-led teaching for the twenty-first century.I lead on the strategic development of new academic partnerships that build on the V&A’s track record in innovative, interdisciplinary teaching to co-develop undergraduate and postgraduate HE programmes that equip students with the knowledge, skills and aptitudes needed to deal with and lead in our fast-moving and ever more complex world. I am responsible for building and developing relationships, research-led HE curricula, and collaborative research opportunities with emerging partners involved in East Bank (UCL, LCF, ULiL), the wider group of HEIs in East London (UEL, QMUL, Birkbeck) and academic partners for the V&A family of sites (including V&A Wedgwood Collection and V&A Dundee).I direct the V&A’s involvement in doctoral partnerships (such as the AHRC-funded CDP and DTP schemes) and oversee VARI’s doctoral students, fostering and supporting students as active members of the V&A’s research community.

Oliver Cox is Heritage Engagement Fellow at the University of Oxford. He co-ordinates, supports and brokers collaborative research and engagement projects between the University of Oxford and external partners in the UK and international heritage sector, through enabling individual researchers, research groups, students and professional services to develop mutually-beneficial collaborations. Oliver leads the TORCH Heritage Programme, is co-Lead of the Oxford University Heritage Network and part of the team delivering the University of Oxford’s strategic partnership with the National Trust. Oliver co-leads the Heritage Pathway Graduate Training Programme. He is also the inaugural Humanities Innovation Champion for Oxford University Innovation in recognition of his external consultancy work with heritage organisations. Oliver is a historian by training, and received his undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Oxford. He first joined TORCH in 2013 as a Knowledge Exchange Fellow and went on to create the Thames Valley Country House Partnership. Oliver co-supervises an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Award with Historic Houses; teaches architectural history for the Faculty of History; co-convenes the Graduate Seminar in History, 1680-1850; and supervises relevant Masters and Doctoral theses. He is a Faculty Member for Oxford Cultural Leaders and the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme.

Oliver Cox is one of The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities's Knowledge Exchange Fellows. He created and manages the Thames Valley Country House Partnership Project. TalkAbout creates innovative guides for art and art museums, bringing history and culture alive through surprising, profound, fun, conversations. The company was founded by a group of Rhodes scholars and Oxford graduates out of a desire to see people talking to each other in museums. Not only does conversation about artworks make the museum experience more enjoyable for visitors, but research shows that it also makes the artworks more memorable. Our conversation prompts mould visitors experiences, brings them closer together, and highlights elements of the collection. We have worked in the Ashmolean Museum, Waddesdon Manor, and are currently working alongside the Pitt Rivers Museum and The Natural History Museum in Oxford, with guides launched in early November. Course included 30 hours of lectures, complete with site visits.For summer 2010, designed and taught a twelve-hour lecture series ‘Oxford’s Art and Architecture’ introducing 16-18 year old students to architectural history.
