- Undertaking research on low carbon innovation policies in China, India and South Africa and managing transitions to inclusive and sustainable energy systems- Providing expert input on in-depth research and training projects on hydropower benefit-sharing in Africa and localising the solar value chain in Morocco.- Liaising with international research partners and producing research outputs, contributing to research proposals and giving international conference presentations- Managing and supervising interns

- Undertaking policy analysis, report writing and project evaluation in the fields of science, technology and innovation policy, low carbon development, renewable energy technologies for rural development and geographic information systems- Speech writing and preparing briefing notes, press releases and official summary reports- Recruitment and management of short-term employees and consultants- Providing support to the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), including representing the CSTD Secretariat during negotiations between member states- Planning, organising and facilitating 3 conferences, each with 120 high-level participants from 60 UN Member States- Arranging the publication of a new UNCTAD working paper series, ensuring communication between the Division Director, Section Chief, editors and publication department

- Providing policy advice to DFID’s Low Carbon Development Team on feasibility of project proposals submitted to the World Bank-administered Clean Technology Fund - Analysing and making recommendations on international project proposals worth up to $100m, evaluating their robustness, opportunities for sustainability and transformational potential

- Prepared a background paper on green and renewable technologies as energy solutions for rural development for UNCTAD’s annual Expert Meeting, the outcome of which was reported to UNCTAD's Trade and Development and Investment, Enterprise and Development Commissions

- Taught Statistics to DPhil and Masters students within SPRU and Communication Skills to undergraduate Business and Management students, with responsibility for class preparation and marking of homework and formal assessments- Co-developed, marketed and launched Qualitative Research Methodology course for DPhil students, managing 20 session facilitators and 50 participants

- Taught Physics to all senior grades and Environmental Science to the junior grades with responsibilities in the Science Department and other school based committees.- Developed district-wide capacity building programme for science teachers to facilitate the sharing of teaching methodologies effective in constrained environments.- Organised and facilitated a HIV/AIDS Awareness Workshop for teachers.- Fundraised for and coordinated the construction of a fully functioning computer laboratory, promoting local ownership of indigenous funds, construction, operation, maintenance- Worked with local religious organisations to produce, market and sell audio recordings of their choirs in order to fundraise for/finance local charitable activities.
