Profile bio

About Olivia Teague

With a B.S. in Environmental Studies, I have developed the knowledge, skills, and analytical tools to analyze a wide range of interconnected environmental problems. That said, I also possess both an understanding and a passion for wildlife conservation science. While attending UC Santa Barbara, I interned at the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network, gaining hands-on experience with various California wildlife. Additionally, I aided in the rehabilitation and rescue of marine mammals at the Channel Islands Marine & Wildlife Institute as well as ungulates through The Horse Project.Since moving back to San Diego, I transitioned from working at San Diego Humane Society's Behavior Center, providing general animal care in addition to specialized behavior intervention for cats and dogs, to Project Wildlife. At Project Wildlife, I provide care for injured, diseased, and orphaned animals (consisting mainly of small mammals, raptors, songbirds, seabirds, and shorebirds) with the purpose of returning them to the wild. I’m also a Zoological Specialist for SeaWorld San Diego’s Rescue team, where I rescue and rehabilitate distressed marine animals, including various birds, dolphins, sea turtles, seals, and sea lions. Outside of my husbandry experience, I have assisted in the data collection and analysis of at-risk species like the olive ridley sea turtle. In the future, I hope to conduct my own research regarding wildlife conservation through the lens of a changing climate. With this in mind, I believe my interest in this field as well as my strong writing skills, teamwork experience, and work ethic could make me a valuable asset to your team. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!
