My name is Olivia Vargas. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Growing up music has always been a part of my life in every way. My Mom would play her music in the kitchen while we all did the dishes for every meal. My Dad had dance parties with me and my sisters when we were little playing the music he had learned from his siblings. And of course without a doubt, you ask anyone close to me and they’d tell you that I‘ve been singing since before I could even talk!Music to me is not only my passion but it’s such a part of who I am as a person. And because I feel such a close connection to my work, that is what actually makes me fantastic! I’ve been singing and performing since I was 8 years old, performances ranging from school choir shows to the ICCA’s of 2020, where SDSU’s SoundWave took first place, and I had received the award for outstanding soloist. I also had been a part of many musical productions for a short time. I loved putting on a show with an ensemble. Connecting with people through art is my goal and I know I have the drive and experience and ambition to achieve great and wonderful things. I want my music to reach people like me. I am young, I am open minded, I am LGBT, and I am striving to be the change that I wish to see in the world. I wish to bring my ideas into the world so see if anyone relates to me. To see someone screaming my lyrics back at me, would be the greatest achievement ever.
