At SFS I managed a portfolio of international environmental education programs in Bhutan, Cambodia, and Peru where I gained experience in program management, intercultural communication, and student advising. I served as the US-based representative for all program offerings in Bhutan, Cambodia, and Peru, where my responsibilities included application support and review, enrollment logistics, pre-departure preparations, and developing written resources for students. As an externally facing role, I represented institutional interests to students, parents, partner institutions, and international staff members. I was the primary source of information for my portfolio of programs, and I became practiced at succinctly communicating a wide range of institutional information - from academic themes to technical application support to lifestyle abroad - in a friendly and approachable manner. I additionally gained experience working in a non-profit setting, implementing and troubleshooting a new CRM, collaborating across multiple departments, and managing an organizational Instagram page.

As manager of the Box Office for the 17-day Piccolo Spoleto arts and culture festival, I strengthened my leadership and training skills, as well as gained valuable expertise in managing staff and handling money and sensitive information. In this role, I managed a staff of 25. I was responsible for scheduling this staff at over 280 shows and events. I trained staff to sell tickets at each show and was the first point of contact when there were any issues at the venues. This position demanded sustained focus, patience, and quick-thinking, as there were at times 25 shows in a single day. I strengthened my leadership, communication, and management skills in this role.

As a Site Director for the iCharleston program, I supervised 36 first-semester students participating in an international bridge study abroad experience in London. In this role I strengthened my skills in student advising, event planning, social media, and university admissions. I also gained experience in crisis management and mentoring academically at-risk students on campus. While in London, my responsibilities included planning and facilitating a weekly academic support class for students while abroad, planning cultural excursions, managing a budget of $18,000, and liaising with the partner institution, Foundation for International Education (FIE) to represent the institutional interests of the College of Charleston. I was also part of a social media team, responsible for posting to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter at least 3x/week. On campus, I was the primary advisor to eight academically at-risk students and helped the cohort transition to campus. I also reviewed 200 first-year applications for future students and recruited students to the program by answering student and family questions about the program over the phone, via email, and in person. One project I am particularly proud of was my work to revise the training process for future Site Directors, where I created daily lesson plans for the 2-week training period.

As the assistant site director for the iCharleston program in London, I supervised 37 first semester college students participating in an international bridge program. I led a weekly academic support course for the students, where we covered topics such as study skills, culture shock, and mental health. In addition to working with the students in a group, I advised and mentored them in individual meetings, helping with the transition to college and to living abroad. To enhance their abroad experience, I also organized cultural events for the students, including a series of museum visits. In this role, I enhanced my intercultural communication skills, as well as gained leadership and disciplinary experience.

As the Intern Management Assistant in the Office of Cultural Affairs, I managed the 16 interns that served as House Managers for the Piccolo Spoleto festival, a 17-day arts and culture festival that takes place each year in Charleston. My responsibilities included training the interns to be House Managers, scheduling 300+ events, and serving as the liaison between the interns and the office. Additionally, I created a variety of documents that chronicled the process of Intern Manager to aid in consistency for next year.
