In this role I have management duties in addition to my responsibilities as a Software Developer..I have managed up-to 9 developers ranging in seniority from senior to apprentice across multiple business-line and functional teams. As their line manager, I enjoy conducting regular one to ones with them, relaying company communication and helping explain and contextualise communications to them as individuals. Conversely I relay feedback to management and leadership around issues/concerns raised by my reports. If I see any changes to a their behaviour at work or effectiveness I will take proactive action to understand what is happening.I work with my reports to build a career plan and then hold them accountable for actioning their plan, following their progress and providing feedback where appropriate.As a developer manager I am expected to collaborate with peers to ensure that function policy and practice is consistent and that issues are discussed and raised at the appropriate forums.

We Got POP Ltd is a platform for all people on production in the film, TV and advertising industries.As a junior I was mainly assigned projects with agreed scopes of work. I often focused on routine tasks, team changes or solutions that use established patterns and solutions by the company. There was still an emphasis on learning, so I attended as much internal and external training as I could, often passing on what I had learnt back to my peers/colleagues in the form of presentations or notes. Highlights:- I built several suites of automated smoke tests from scratch using a cloud based service called Ghost Inspector. These tests check functional and visual regression in all of Pop's products. They have become an integral part of the company's continuous deployment process, allowing the development team to release with confidence. They are also used by the Devops team to check functionality hasn't been broken after they make key infrastructure changes.- I run our teams fortnightly agile retrospective meeting and have helped compere internal company showcases.- I was the main person responsible for maintaining the company's static website, adding new features/updating content. I supported a series of successful marketing drives by building a wide variety of landing pages, using a reusable template that I created.

An intensive, 3 month full time web development course, delivered by industry experts, and designed to give students a strong grounding in everything needed to become a full stack developer.The units tackled both front and back end development, covering a broad range of industry standard languages and frameworks.Technologies included: JavaScript and JQuery, HTML5, CSS and SASS, AngularJS, Node.js, MongoDB, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Github, SQL (PostgreSQL), Heroku, and AWS.As a student, I partook in daily stand-ups, as well as pair programming and code presentations to gain confidence and learn from others. Projects involved working both individually and as a part of a larger team, in an agile environment. The end goal of each project was to create viable real-world applications and consolidate what we learnt during lessons. In addition to this we were given experience of testing and the principles of TDD.

As a cook, I was responsible for: - Catering for 38 people on a live-aboard dive boat on the Great Barrier Reef for 3 day trips.- Handling customer dietary requirements by altering the menu to ensure maximum customer comfort and satisfaction- Cleaning the kitchen area and all appliances to a high standard of hygiene - Stock control on the boat for both food and cleaning equipment.- Replacing the laundry and cleaning all the cabins at the end of each trip- Administering seasickness medication and basic first aid.I was First aid trained and responsible for locating and administering oxygen in the event of a diver emergency. I was also extensively trained in fire safety and sea recoveries.As a dive master, I was responsible for: Leading small groups of divers around various sites on the reef.Filling tanks, logging divers and lookout duties.Assisting with boat maintenance when the boat was out of the water for overhaul.Once I was a qualified dive instructor, I worked for a few weeks on a voluntary basis to gain experience teaching
