I'm the founder and managing director of One Three Four. I've worked with investment banks to improve their investment-research reports, and with law firms to improve their know-how updates. And I've helped both kinds of firms to improve their pitch-templates and pitch writing. The company name comes from this simple mantra: One clear message, three supporting points, and at least four ways to continue the conversation.Before setting up One Three Four in 2003 I was a shareholding director of Thumb, a design-and-communication business, that focused on business-to-business communication and branding (30 people, £3m annual turnover). I was a member of the management team that sold Thumb to Nettec, a digital-services business, in 1999.In my earlier career I studied journalism and worked as a designer, brand consultant, and creative director.

I was a shareholding director at Thumb, a business-to-business branding and marketing communications firm, from 1996. I joined as creative director, and created a new role, director of optimisation, as we took on bigger more complex projects for Morgan Stanley and Citigroup.We sold Thumb to digital-services firm Nettec in 1999. Nettec listed on the London stock exchange in 2000.My role was to translate client needs into a project brief and then manage a team of creatives and technical to deliver the best possible solution to meet the client brief.
