To enable storage functionality for a substantial Kubernetes cluster using a compact InfoScale storage cluster, we must export a file from the InfoScale Cluster file system as a storage device to a Docker container. In this endeavor, we implemented SPDK (Storage Performance Development Kit) to facilitate this process. Our investigation revealed that both SPDK and LIO libraries offer viable options for exporting a file as a storage device and subsequently bind mounting it to the container. Additionally, we conducted a thorough comparison, including performance metrics, for both approaches.
