To increase safety and traffic flow on the road, we separate the main traffic flow from traffic flow with local destination from this junction. We are expanding the number of lanes from 4 to 6 per direction. To make this possible, we are adjust/renew/build 14 viaducts and building a completely new flyover from the A10 South to the A4 motorway.Contract amount > 300 mio EUR

De Groene Waarden, a combination of the companies BESIX, Mobilis and its partners from Gelder, Mourik Infra and BESIX Infra Nederland, won the contract for the renewal and widening of the A27 between Houten and Everdingen.The Houten-Hooipolder section has been intensively loaded over the years by more and more heavy traffic. During the week, more than a hundred thousand vehicles per day drive on this congested section of road, which scores high in the traffic jam top 10. 'Over 7 km between Houten and Everdingen, the road will be widened in a southerly direction to 4 lanes. In the northbound direction, the two lanes and a rush-hour lane will be retained. In addition, the Hagesteinsebrug will be renovated and the Houtensebrug will be widened. The new Hagesteinsebrug will be equipped with a bicycle connection.Two-phase approachThis project concerns a design and construct contract that is designed using the two-phase approach. In the two-phase approach, the risks and uncertainties in this type of complex projects are addressed more jointly between Rijkswaterstaat and the contractor. This leads to better control and a more stable realization phase. For the A27 Houten-Everdingen, approximately 70% of the work has been included in the two-phase approach. This concerns the renewal of the Hagesteinsebrug, the Aardenbanen of the Hagesteinsebrug and the widening of the Houtensebrug. It is efficiently laid out, sustainable and it offers plenty of character and comfort for travellers. The new pier – which might be mistaken for a terminal, given all the facilities it will house – enables five narrow-body planes to board on one side and either six narrow-body planes or three planes of the largest size on the other side. Ballast Nedam was asked to implement this smart and attractive design.For Dutch standards, this is an extremely large project. In total there is 53,000 m2 of room, divided over three floors, which allows travellers with different security statuses to be seperated. Also, it includes a total of eight gates and 57,000 m2 of paving to create a parking site for aircrafts. This all comes with a very strict deadline, which is why we have bundled our expertise and clout with Turkish TAV Construction who specialise in airports.For this project BNOC JV (Joint Venture between Ballast Nedam Road Specialties and Ooms Construction) will supply and construct the external works (Cement Base, Pavement, Concrete including underground installations) around the A-pier which will be used by airplanes and logistics.Responsible for Contract Management as a Subcontractor of the Main Contract (Ballast Nedam TAV).Contract amount > 50mio
