I'm a welding instructor at a welding program in a CTE career center that trains juniors and seniors welding in smaw and gmaw flat and horizontal, oxyfuel and plasma cutting processes, measurements, blueprints, weld symbols, and prepares them career readiness of accountability, responsibility, chain of command, organization, standards and policies to be prepared in the high rigor and demands of the welding industry.

We specialize in aluminum, silica bronze, stainless steel, and steel, providing: equipment sales and rentals, and supplies and training for SMAW, GMAW & GTAW.

I am an adjunct welding instructor here now, I took a full time position at another location. I cover all of SSC's welding curriculum - blueprints, OFC, PAC. and all positions: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW.

I teach and manage the welding dept. I wrote the curriculum, selected textbooks, hired staff, and order supplies. Welding program is an intermediate level covering : SMAW, gmaw, gtaw welding processes; and Pac, & ofc cutting processes. I assisted my students with resume writing and getting jobs.

HCCTP is a highway construction preapprenticeship training program, that trains applicants to be prepared to be in the trades. My job is to train these applicants to weld. The course covers the following welding/cutting processes (SMAW, gmaw, gtaw, Pac, & ofc).

WLD104- Welding Electrical Circuits – Course offers basic electricity, functions and modes of transfer for all welding processes.WLD105- Blueprints- Course covers how to read shop drawings and blueprints.WLD111 - This class teaches basic understanding of the operation of oxy-acetylene welding and cutting and shield metal arc welding, Stick welding. Safety, technique and basic welding knowledge will be covered while welding SMAW in the Flat position. 1/8” Bare welding rod and 1/8” E6010 are used. WLD112 - This is an advanced SMAW course covering the Horizontal Position and the 5 welding joints. Students complete lecture and lab time. Students will be changing Oxy-Fuel tanks and using 4 ½” angle grinders (with flap discs, grinding discs, wire wheels, and cut-off wheels). Course also covers out-of-position cuts and bevel cuts from oxy-fuel cutting, Carbon-Arc Gouging and “whipping”, an electrode welding technique, is introduced here. 1/8” E6010 is used and 1/8” E7018 is introduced. W LD121 – Advanced SMAW introduces welding in the Vertical position. Students will demonstrate their abilities from past classes and advanced techniques are studied.WLD122 – Is the final SMAW class. Here, the student masters electrode manipulations for advanced vertical and welding in the over head position. This class is based on an accumulation of all SMAW class knowledge, including everything learned in WLD 111, 112, & 121. WLD123 – MIG, TIG, & Brazing 1- This class is a combination of three welding processes - (Brazing, Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) & Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG); machine setup, filler metals, basic techniques, and welding stainless steel , aluminum, and autogenous welds –welds without filler metal.

Here I was a welder, performed weld tests, weld inspections, site inspections, calibrated welding machines, and provided safety and welding training to Chicagoland and tristate area companies. Welding processes include: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAWon various base materials for production, fabrication, and repairs.

GMAW – (MIG) Instruction on basic to advanced techniques and the maintenance of welders and accessories. This course covers modes of transfer, filler metal selection and shielding gases.FCAW – (Flux-Core) This class entails instructions from basic to advanced skills of the FCAW process covering filler metals, shielding gases, and repair of the welding machine and accessories.

123 Certification (A Canadian Weld Certification Company)–Quebec, Canada Virtual Welder Demonstration & Saleswww.123certification.com Demonstrated this company’s version of a Virtual Welder. These computers would connect to actual welding equipment to train users how to weld without using metal, or welding rod. I provided demos and lectures on this product.I worked for them on Contract basis.

Maintenance of all equipment, calibration of machines, welding demonstrations, lab tours, machine demonstrations, material and equipment set up for class projects, administrative organization, lab organization, and research for newest lab equipment available. I was also the acting Marketing liaison, focusing on the promotion of the Welding program through high schools, I was on several commercials on cable channels, and featured on many promotional flyers.

I Provided strategic direction in marketing of the company's products across a broad spectrum of markets. Responsibilities include: account management, marketing, networking, data entry, web index coordination and organization, time and office management, inventory counts, management of their website, and their online sales.

Responsibilities included scanning, data entry, record keeping, and the dispatching of the Engineering drawings to storage simultaneous to posting on corporate Intranet. Additional responsibilities included filing, answering phones, and employee instruction on corporate Intranet usage and composition of materials and manuals used in the class.
