Prof. Orest Olejnik, PhD, FRPharmS.Orest Olejnik is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, Charter member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and member of other associations notably Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Society for Biomaterials.. He holds an appointment as visiting Professor at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. Orest Olejnik served as Senior Vice President, Global Pharmaceutical Sciences at Allergan, Inc. Irvine, California, USA. He received his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmacy from the Sunderland School of Pharmacy, UK, and subsequently trained to meet the registration requirements in becoming a qualified pharmacist, licensed to practice. He received his Doctorate in Pharmaceutics from the University of Nottingham (School of Pharmacy/Queen's Medical Centre), UK. Prior to joining Allergan in 1991, his professional experience in the development of healthcare products were with Sterling-Winthrop Laboratories (Sanofi-Aventis), Fisons Pharmaceuticals (Astra-Zeneca), CooperVision, and Johnson & Johnson. His past roles encompassed formulation development, clinical supplies manufacturing, pharmaceutical sciences organizational leadership yielding high impact performance on biopharmaceutical business needs. Together with his tenure at Allergan (1991 - 2015), Orest Olejnik has significant experience (over 33 years) in drug development (both small and large molecules), a strong track record of product approvals worldwide covering fields of ophthalmology, dermatology, and neurology; with additional experience in GI, oncology, allergy and anti-infectives. Orest Olejnik has authored numerous publications, awards, as well as receiving many patents (protecting commercialized products in excess of $1 billion in total value) during his professional career.
