I co-founded Cambridge Temperature Concepts during my PhD with fellow scientists from the University of Cambridge. We brought an idea for a new, more reliable and convenient fertility monitoring device to market, in the process winning business plans at the collegiate, university, and finally national level in 2007. At the end of 2007, after I graduated and made the transition to businesswoman, we negotiated the initial investment of £250,000 in the fledgling business with Angel investors. The company took less than 18 months from first investment to first sales of the medically approved product: DuoFertility, which now ships worldwide. DuoFertility has the largest database of human temperature measurements giving insights in women's cycles.
As the Chief Scientific Officer, I have contributed to the development of several medical devices, designing and running scientific studies, as well as presenting results to international conferences.As the Head of Regulatory Affairs I achieved regulatory approvals in Europe and the US of several medical devices, including fertility monitors, sleep monitors and a skin-worn thermometer for continuous monitoring of patients.
