I started my early career as barrister, called to the Bar in 2003 and represented clients at Court in almost 2000 cases during my 12 years in private practice.In 2012 I had an idea to develop software for self-employed professionals to help manage risk and drive profitability and so I founded a start-up called Briefed.Over the next decade or so I have grown Briefed into a leading training, compliance, and technology platform delivering high quality education and regulatory advice to thousands of barristers and solicitors as well as many other businesses and not for profit organisations. In 2022 I launched the Briefed Honesty Box Initiative to help charities access high-quality training at a budget they choose.In 2023 in collaboration with leading baby loss campaigner Keeley Lengthorn I launched the Briefed Workplace Pregnancy Loss Initiative – providing free training to any organisation on this important topic to help improve workplaces for everyone.Early in 2024 I became the host of the ‘Get Briefed’ Podcast, where I get to use my professional ‘questioning’ skills once again and talk to interesting people about their careers, lives and passion for the Bar. In 2024 Briefed was acquired by leading London based private equity firm, OMNI partners, and merged with one of their portfolio businesses DMJ Recruitment to become a leading global resource by providing specialist training, development, and recruitment solutions to professionals in legal, corporate governance and compliance roles.I continue as CEO of the merged business. I have been featured on Forbes.com, BBC Radio, and Television. [I left private practice and became full time CEO of Briefed in 2015.
