About Brian O'Rourke

I am a fifth-year PhD candidate in Health Services Management and Policy at the OSU College of Public Health. My background in bioethics serves as an important lens through which I view many issues facing our healthcare system. Driving my research is the objective of prioritizing equity and fairness over profit by re-orienting the way we organize, provision, and finance healthcare. As such, I have taken a multidisciplinary approach to learning about health policy in the United States, with courses in sociology, public policy, and political science alongside my public health curriculum. Additionally, I am proficient in multiple statistical languages and familiar with both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches. I hope to one day find a career that allows me to leverage these research and critical thinking skills to help foster a just healthcare system for the future.
