Acted as the infrastructure SME & part of the leadership team for a successful data mesh pilot with a multinational pharmaceutical. Led a client transformation as an SRE SME, working with executive and senior leadership to change hiring practices, organization structure, and SRE ways of working. These results were turned into a presentation and playbook and presented to global Thoughtworkers.Acted as an SME with the federal government to understand and rationalize an individual problematic department, which then expanded to a broader, multi-year, enterprise strategy and transformation.As a FinOps SME, led a pilot to demonstrate value generation via FinOps best practices and developed methodologies to project budget and identify cost optimization opportunities.

Modified and created processes to rapidly analyze and deploy new technologies, vendors, work cross functionally to address return to sail initiatives. Proposed a matrixed architect model to leverage existing technical resources that was implemented and removed bottlenecks in process. Function as a primary liaison to translate and interpret business objectives/outcomes into technical solutions.

Worked with the emerging technologies department to improve their agile development model, virtual collaboration, and matrixed management. Areas of responsibility included budgeting, vendor engagement, governance/planning, and stabilizing the underlying application infrastructure. Technologies I directly worked with included Red Hat OpenShift, AMQ Streams/kafka, Cassandra, MySQL, and Ansible, which worked together to facilitate developers working within a reactive framework. Part of a team of architects responsible for providing a resilient solution for unforecasted stress on systems which would fail under peak load, which successfully re-engineered architecture in under two weeks to avoid outages in booking traffic.

Initially responsible for the 3 platform offerings before taking over responsibility for all engineering platforms globally across 10+ product lines. These included responsibility around our public cloud (AWS), private clouds (VMware, Oracle VM), and recovery infrastructure offerings (DRaaS, Business continuity) . Leadership responsibility for a global organization (100~ individuals) of wildly talented architects and senior devops engineers, with management reporting into me in the US, Europe, and India.

Responsible for the management of remote TAMs & an executive escalation point for their assigned accounts. Performed performance evaluations, annual reviews, performance improvement plans, and budget exercises. Put together a proposal to change the TAMs from being a cost center to a revenue center and took that through implementation, increasing head count by 13 over the course of 6 months to staff under the new model.

Responsible for platform standards and compliance to DoD STIG. Completed projects to upgrade AIX instances to the newest version and re-engineered a $5bn federal account to easily meet RTO contractual needs. Extensive work in scripting/automation to reduce manual work across AIX, Solaris, and Linux.

Responsible for administration of AIX, RHEL, CA AutoSys, TSM, and IBM DS4800/8100 SANs. Extensive work with scripting and re-engineering existing processes to mitigate risk and manual intervention. Led large migration projects and worked extensively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Migrated a DB2 DB from zOS to AIX, saving over $1 mil/annum. Responsible for Linux & Unix administration as well as the implementation and configuration of IBM DS4700/DS4800 SANs for DR purposes. Planned and architected successful DR tests to comply with HIPAA regulations.
