The corporate challenge of ambidexterity: A case study of a large Swedish media organisation and their work on balancing exploitative and exploratory innovation There is a notion in the research- and business world today that innovation is a source for both profit and long-term growth. Further, in prior literature it is suggested that companies need to balance both exploratory (long-term, transformational) and exploitative (short-term, incremental) innovation in order to create sustained organisational performance in the long-term. This study aimed to investigate how a large media organisation can work with both exploratory and exploitaive innovation in order to survive in the long term perspective. By studying several C-level executives at Bonnier News we came up with interesting results on how to achieve ambidextarity.
