Oscar Castaneda is a Junior at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in marketing with a concentration in digital media marketing. Throughout his time at Columbia, Oscar has taken various courses related to his career field. These include Brands & Branding, Business of Media, Information Management, Marketing Research, Introduction to Marketing, and Promotional Marketing. These classes have given him knowledge of the marketing industry, and he is eager to use this knowledge in a future internship to gain real-world experience.In addition to his studies, Oscar works part-time as a retail sales associate at Skechers, which has given him excellent time-management skills. Balancing school and work, Oscar successfully meets deadlines and has never clocked in late. As a result, this has earned him an impressive GPA of 3.5 and a pay raise at his job. While on the clock, Oscar always keeps things professional, by respecting the customer and providing excellent customer service upon completing a sale. He is also recognized as an analytical leader. Whether developing a survey form for a class project or managing product placements at work, he analyzes the information given and listens to further feedback to provide a plan and accomplish the task. Outside of school and work, Oscar enjoys long runs to maintain a healthy diet and relieve stress. He is also a reader of fiction, romance, and mental health books. In addition, he also enjoys crocheting new projects.As he looks to the future, Oscar is excited to apply the skills he has learned to a digital marketing internship where he will learn even more about the digital marketing field for a successful career in the digital marketing world.
