Mentorship of student design teams, overseeing hundreds of different Mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering projects over 3 years.Design, implementation, and instruction of undergraduate laboratories to teach core engineering principles. Also responsible for the training of TA's as instructors and upkeep of the lab spaces.Project management and execution of the 2018 and 2019 Engineering Capstone Design Fairs, balancing the needs of thousands of attendees and several difficult stakeholder groups.Hired under the "Eyes High" University strategy which involved getting qualified staff to ensure graduate and undergraduate students were able to develop 'desirable attributes' (research productivity and hire-ability). Position was eliminated in January 2020 as part of massive provincial budget cuts to the organization.

Involved with the University of Calgary Formula SAE program for 4 years. During this time I filled the role of several technical management positions (outboard assemblies/wheels & brakes, engine calibration, aerodynamics, systems integration) and served as the Engineering Manager for two years. A brief summary of experience from the Formula SAE team follows:- Application of Engineering and design principles for use in an international intercollegiate design competition to create a two-thirds scale Formula style autocross vehicle. Major extra curricular commitment and the ultimate supplement to an engineering bachelors degree.- Creative problem solving for unique applications with major budgetary and timeline constraints.- Expertise with SolidWorks CAD software for solid model assemblies and extensive stress analysis (FEA). - Knowledge of welding and machining processes with hands on experience in metal working, composites fabrication and a wide assortment of manual and power tools.- Countless independent studies including topics such as vehicle dynamics, mechanical design, vehicle setup & testing, aerodynamics, design methodology, and manufacturing techniques. - Created and implemented a documentation system to help streamline new designs and to provide a resource for future team decisions.- Extensive teamwork and leadership experience. 6 months as Project Engineer on the Alaska Pipeline Project; attended to administrative tasks, some detailed engineering, regulatory work, and contractor oversight. 10 months in the Mechanical Engineering core department on the stress analysis team; performed studies on mechanical assemblies using AutoPipe, some design of hot pipe assemblies, streamline of in-house stress analysis software (Excel, MatLab, Mathworks), and research and development into stresses in horizontal directional drilling installation piping.
