The formation of the design business came after the plant in which I had been employed was closed, with a desire to pursue work that I found more fulfilling I studied Yacht Design. Having sailed and paddled the Great Lakes from Montreal to Mackinac as well as many of the smaller rivers and lakes helped family members build boats, and worked on my own boats this was my opportunity to pursue a career in a field that interested me. The skills and knowledge that have been gained led to the formation of my own business as an way to use these to enable others to enjoy the building and use of small boats. I have gained experience in design by taking contract work for other designers working in fiberglass and aluminum. In addition to the design experience gained I have also been employed building and repairing fiberglass boats of many types.The focus of the business is on providing plans and kits for 'backyard' builders using wood and epoxy, as the purchase and keeping of boats in marinas becomes more expensive there is a growing place for boats that can be built and kept at home.In the past couple of years the business has undergone a number of changes, while the main focus remains boats, there has been an increase in the volume of industrial design work that has come my way. These jobs range from designing and building children's furniture for use in daycare's to mold design and prototype development for a local company,.
