Additionally, continuous engagement in the intraoperative setting further contributes for my pre-graduate surgical experience, allowing an instructed development of basic and intermediate surgical skills, essencial for future career development.- Surgical Emergency DepartmentActivity in the Surgical Emergency Department follows as previous experiences, ranging from clinical assessment of surgical patients, supervised perioperative management, intraoperative assistance, supervised assessment and management of trauma and minor surgical procedures such as traumatic wound repairs and abscess surgical drainage. Activities are focused on a clinical approach of medical pathology in a tertiary hospital emergency department, under specialist supervision:- Diagnosis and monitoring - Therapeutics and supportive care- Practical skills such as venous/arterial blood drawing from different anatomical sites and abdominal paracentesis.
