Providing HAZOP and LOPA chair role for HPS projects in various industrial sectors including distilled spirits and pharmaceuticals.

Provision of process safety consulting services on an ad-hoc contract/consultant basis to Engenda EPC in Falkirk. Typically this involves leading HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA studies, DSEAR Risk Assessments and Hazardous Area Classification.

Provision of technical safety engineering services to Wood in their Glasgow office. This role involved working on offshore oil and gas projects and modifications for the BP North Sea contract, some work on the Enquest contract and the Ineos FPS contract.

I was the Lead Process Safety Engineer at Engenda Group (formerly Clark Eriksson) in Falkirk. Having developed our process safety business over a few years the team offered a range of specialist process safety services with expertise across all process sectors, on all sizes of projects. The consultancy services were tailored to client needs with emphasis placed on building relationships to grow a sustainable business of process safety activities. The focus was on hazard studies (HazOp, HAZID), SIL assessment (LOPA), DSEAR and ATEX compliance and hazardous area classification, mechanical equipment ignition risk assessments (MEIRA) and pressure relief design and verification.I managed process safety activities from business development with new and existing clients, project estimation, project management, cost control as well as execution of the process safety studies and activities. The process safety team at Engenda also provides in house services to the Engenda Design team for design projects.

I lead the process safety engineering activities at Clark Eriksson, with a focus on developing our process safety and risk services. Focusing on leading HAZOPs, LOPAs, DSEAR and ATEX studies and attempting to develop our client base in a diverse range of industries through process safety activities.I was also a process engineering team member delivering design and consultancy services to our clients in various industrial sectors. Activities included concept and FEED studies, detailed engineering design, engineering consulting projects, and project management.

Carrying out front end engineering appraisal, process design and selection of technical solutions for mid-range capital projects on KG, G4 (gas crackers) and Polymer assets. Accountability for delivery of projects as per schedule and cost and liaison between asset team and third party design house.

Project management of engineering projects of strategic importance to the Upstream Oil BU, including development of a hydraulically driven subsea boosting pump for Chevron ETC, and shale gas fracturing product development. This role involved extensive travel to the US and Canada to support our business development initiatives and leading a week long concept level FMECA.

Working on new and existing product development within the Technology department in Engineering. This is a technical and business orientated position involving market studies, technical reviews, business planning, project planning, budgetting and costing.

I spent over a year at Grangemouth working on the Innovene 4 plant as a technical process engineer. Working on day to day plant troubleshooting, optimisation, technical safety reviews, plant decommissioning, plant modifications, plant turnarounds... and everything else a process engineer gets involved in.

Working as a process engineering intern student for the summer of 2006 before my final year of University. I was based in the refinery for the duration of my internship which led onto my graduate position at Grangemouth.
