I am an aerodynamics engineer at Tesla and Georgia Tech FSAE alum with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a minor in industrial design. I have always been passionate about design and aerodynamics and am blessed to apply these skills to the most efficient road cars in the world.As part of Georgia Tech’s ICE FSAE team for 5 years, I lead full car aero design for the vehicle, computational fluid dynamics, and wind tunnel analysis for the packages we created. To that end I have gained experience in using MatLab to analyze track data and apply that data to future simulations, as well as using an iterative workflow with CAD and CFD to innovate on past designs. I also work within the larger team to construct the package we create using carbon fiber composite. Working with this team has taught me a number of valuable practical engineering skills, as well as given me experience working in a multidisciplinary team to solve real world engineering problems.As a member of Tesla’s external aerodynamics team, I do much of the same. We utilize cutting edge CFD and wind tunnel tools to design and optimize the exterior surfaces of our vehicles to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and manage aerodynamic balance to feed into Tesla’s incredible vehicle dynamics.
