Responsible for creation of site engineering drawings, signal path drawings, and coordination of VLAN management. Creating office records drawings in NDS. Equipment includes Fujitsu FW9500; Coriant 7100N; Ciena CN-5150; battery and power equipment, and C.O. alarm material. Working closely with internal National engineers to ensure a timely turn-up of cross regional high speed circuits (10G), coordinate fiber assignments, and monitor project progress, dealing with issues as they arise.

Development of Engineering Installation packages for the Access Engineering Department for the Southern Region. Conducting site surveys, creating purchase requisitions, coordinating construction bids. Using proprietary software for project management, including NDFOS, Fireworks, and Bidmaster. Responsible for creation of site engineering drawings, signal path drawings, and coordination of VLAN management. Receiving and staging project equipment. Equipment includes Fujitsu FW4100 & 4500; Calix C7; Adtran OPTI-6100, MX2820, & TA-3000; Ciena 3940 & 3911; and Clearfield OSP connecting material, as well as other Access type equipment to connect from the C.O. to the field. Working closely with the OSP engineers to ensure a timely turn-up of new sites, and to coordinate copper pair counts, and fiber assignments.

NOC position proactively monitoring and implementing high-speed fiber optic, voice, and data circuits for a large customer database encompassing approximately 70,000 network elements in the US and Europe. Activities included troubleshooting NE alarms (LOS, LOF, AIS, Pointer Justifications, etc) and participating on troubleshooting calls with field personnel, monitoring their work. Proactively responded to the ticketing system, and following ticket from opening to closure. Worked in the Transport and Environmental NOCs. Trained on various vendor’s equipment, including Alcatel, ADVA, Infinera, Nortel, and Fujitsu.

Development of Engineering Design Installation packages for internal and external customers. Participating on weekly project management calls for new building additions and various CORE network projects. Selection and ordering of equipment to meet CORE requirements. Setting and tracking multiple project milestones and completion dates using the ER log and other internal tracking software. Escalation and resolution of issues with management, customer representatives, installation and warehouse personnel. Coordinating activities with local operations personnel on a daily basis. Development of engineering layout and design for AT&T Lightspeed project, including floor plans, front equipment, wiring lists, and wiring diagrams. Developed project milestones and worked closely with other departments on weekly project managements calls to track status of projects, resolve issues, escalate necessary issues, and close projects. Worked closely with customer counterparts to ensure design changes were accomplished quickly, up to specifications, and with minimum disruption to field personnel. Working with SONET, DS0, DS1, and DS3 circuits on a daily basis. Real-time response to trouble-ticketing system (Remedy) for over 60 customers and SLA interaction with customer representatives. Escalation of high-profile clients and/or problems within restricted timeframes and guidelines using established project management skills and procedures. Provisioning of SONET circuits using IP protocols across ring DWDM architecture.Maintenance of DWDM equipment provided by use of IP and GUI interfaces, such as NT System Manager, and Cisco CTM, CTC, and IOS systems. Working closely with customers to troubleshoot issues with Cisco routers, switches, and circuits.Cooperated closely with HSSD division to implement Access Service requests (ASR) and Local Service Requests (LSR).
