USESO is the sole selector for the US team at the annual International Earth Science Olympiad. I'm currently leading the team writing USESO's open exam, writing and editing individual questions as well as selecting and giving feedback to writers.

I'm a counselor and lecturer for USESO's summer Training Camp, which selects the US Earth Science Team each year. At camp, I give an annual lecture on "gearsyness," a model of understanding that uses gear-like chains of interactions to simplify apparent black boxes.

I'm currently leading the first-ever Stanford Science Bowl Invitational, a Science Bowl competition for high schoolers hosted in person at Stanford. The competition is one of just three college-hosted invitationals across the country. I'm managing logistics, writing, staff, and outreach with the rest of the organizing team.

I co-founded and directed Prometheus Science Bowl, a nationwide organization promoting Science Bowl and introducing high schoolers to existential risks. I transformed Prometheus from a single event into a series of seven tournaments, directing four and overseeing three others. Our competitions consisted of Ignis, a series of in-person and virtual qualifier tournaments, and Olympus, an invite-only national championship with a prize pool of $25,000. Ignis Virtual was the largest science bowl tournament ever run.

I was the scientific director for Prometheus 2022, then the largest science bowl tournament ever run with over 100 teams and a prize pool of $28,000. I coordinated writing and editing, managed communication with competitors, and organized day-of logistics. The tournament was an enormous success, with some participants calling it the best science bowl tournament ever run.
