I currently lead Business Operations at Klaviyo, where I'm focused on planning and accountability. Previously, I built our Product Analytics team, infusing data throughout product development. Prior to Klaviyo, I created and oversaw several data & analytics teams at Uber, including Growth Analytics, Product Strategy, and Pricing, and began my career as an investor at Summit Partners.Learn a little more about me below!* My proudest professional moment has been the opportunity to build teams. I feel so fortunate to have launched and scaled Uber’s Growth Analytics team, and it’s been a blast doing the same at Klaviyo. I particularly treasure the responsibility of helping team members grow and develop leaderships skills of their own.* Being on the NYSE floor as the bell was rung for Uber's IPO was a surreal moment. Our app has had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of drivers and millions of riders (and now eaters). That feeling of pride is addictive, and I'm looking forward to returning again and again! [**edit: Klaviyo's IPO makes it two surreal moments on the NYSE trading floor!]* I’m constantly iterating on my leadership style. My approach today is most similar to the Compassionate Leadership touted by Jeff Weiner, pairing empathy with inspiration and action. I highly recommend his LinkedIn Learning class "On Leadership".* Theo Epstein is a unicorn. No one else in baseball history was able to deeply connect with so many distinct groups: players, coaches, scouts, ownership, and fans. Of course, no one else has brought championships to two cursed franchises.* Time is the biggest enemy of a startup. At Uber, we repeatedly pushed to get done today instead of waiting until tomorrow; this time savings rapidly accelerates. As Jeff Bezos puts it: “The cost of being slow is so much higher than the cost of getting the answer exactly right.”* Our most accomplished data storytellers will be this generation’s screenwriters, musicians, and artists.* My two lessons for those starting their careers: 1) Actively explore different roles, types of managers, and stages of companies; and 2) Compound yourself by growing on an exponential trajectory (credit to Sam Altman). Even today, I start getting the itch for something new every 18 months. If you can find a rocket ship that allows you to regularly shift your role internally and still focus on the company’s biggest opportunities, hold on!
