In my last position in Digicel as Development and Operations Manager for the technical department, my scope of development widened and a new team was created under my management. My work expanded from software development into database architecture, server deployment, maintenance and monitoring, and overseeing the work of the developers in my team.

Jamaica

During my tenure at Digicel HQ, my role changed from RF into Developer as a result of my work with automation and development of tools that have become critical in the operations by minimizing the outage times, resulting in big savings for the company across the 31 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific regions. This allowed me to broaden my knowledge to other areas such as Transmission and Core. I designed and implemented an entire performance system that involved DB architecture, ETL, automation of calculations and a repository of web-enabled reports. This system proved to be invaluable during Digicel's aggressive modernization project of vendor swap from Ericsson to ZTE, Huawei and Affirmed, by saving many man-hours that otherwise would have been spent in manual processing and reporting. This also saved the company the purchase of anexpensive proprietary solution that would have been adapted to fit the company needs.I created a site database and maintained a documentation system that became the consolidated single source or truth used during roll-outs and later adopted by operations company-wide, this has also been essential for the revenue-generating programs driven by Big Data and Data Warehouse teams by allowing them to access the most accurate network information.I wrote a system for configuration management, where I created a set of applications that allowed users to audit network parameters, run historical comparisons and other functionality that has been used to quickly identify incorrect parameters and configurations, this was traditionally impossible without spending numerous hours of manual work.

Trinidad And Tobago

Team lead during the implementation of the GSM dual band network 850/1900 for TSTT (Trinidad andTobago). I worked in Design, Integration, Performance and Optimization of the network. I Managed a team of Engineers working in technical surveys and drive tests.

Guatemala

During my work in InCode Wireless, I worked in design, implementation and optimization of various networks in Guatemala (Claro - Nortel, Comcel - Ericsson), Suriname (Telesur - Nortel), Belize (BTL), Trinidad & Tobago (TSTT - Nortel).During these 4 years, I worked in site surveys, drive-test and drive-test analysis, frequency planning, network parameter optimization, OMC-R support and KPI's analysis among others. During this period, I also developed tools used by the OMC and performance analysis. My last position was for TSTT where I led a group of engineers in charge of integration and optimization. I also provided remote support for projects in Brazil, Jamaica and Belgium as consultant.
