As a Physiotherapist under Limited Registration and currently working in an aged care facility, my role is to help with overall mobility, movement dysfunctions, pain management, falls minimization, manual handling, massage, exercise and other techniques to prevent future injuries.

This is my own small business which had its start on 2019 with one of my Pilates customers. Since I have gone through Certificate III and IV in Fitness, I was asked to train this client in an outdoor environment, more specifically in a park. I found the idea extremely challenging and decided to have a go. Since then, I have been training people over 40 years of age who have the aim of becoming physically agile, improve mobility, injury prevention, increase stamina and lose weight.

The owner, Mss Yung Ok, is one of the many students of Cynthia Locchard´s legacy. In this industry, most of the clients are at a mature working age or elderly therefore, a better posture, painless body, better balance, more flexibility and body mobility are common aims among the customers. Some of them would have gone through surgery like total hip replacements or ACL surgery and on the other hand, others would come with the diagnostic of frozen shoulder, bursitis, anterior knee pain syndrome, etc. Consequently, through the Pilates technique, we could manage to eventually lead our customers to a better quality of life.

This is one of the classical Pilates method studio that I worked. It is proudly owned by Cynthia Locchard, who was a great dancer of the New York City Ballet and since 1998 has been running this very successful and world-known Pilates Studio in Surry Hills. Cynthia Locchard is a pupil of Romana Krizanowska, who learned the Pilates technique of Hubertus Pilates himself.

As Pilates instructor I used to teach and coach individuals in the fitness program referred to as Pilates, used Pilates to promote overall health, improve muscle tone and strength, and achieve better posture.

As a physiotherapist, we used to develop exercises in order to prevent work injuries. We were also responsible for adjusting workstations (distances from chair to desk, person to computer screens and keybord distances from the body).
