This implementation reduced the hardware design verification time across all products by 60% and allowed the company to develop the Smart2 antenna in record time.• Improved the SPAN CPT7 product design by adding an MCU that interfaces the wheel-sensor inputs with an OEM card receiver. Also, added USB external connectivity to switch between the OEM card virtual COM port and the SPAN CPT7 internal eMMC storage.• Designed an interface signal control board that helps measure the signal characterization and integrity (rise-time, overshoot, undershoot, max min levels, etc.) of I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, CAN, Ethernet and UART interfaces.• Implemented a practical solution by designing an experimental inrush current board. This eliminated the need to buy specialty test equipment and helped our customers select the proper power supply for our products.• Reduced the time spent verifying Bluetooth and Wi-Fi designs of SmartAG, Smart7 and Smart2 products by automating the Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 tests.• Revamped the hardware design debug methods by creating a user interface tool with Visual Studio C# to control the test stack equipment. This optimized the hardware designs, helped with finding early problems and increased test coverage by thorough testing. • Improved the Bluetooth connectivity of the SmartAG product by re-tuning its phase-locked loop and redesigning the components PCB layout.• Built an antenna coupling test fixture for the SmartAG to measure Bluetooth specifications with the CMW500.• Coached and led a project team in planning and directing the test automation project. This engaged and raised awareness of time savings and test standardization across the company. Show less

This was completed by automating its manufacturing tests using C# and designing an easy insertion test fixture.• Created a new test development software architecture in C# that reduced the test development time by 66%. This was done by having a library with tests ready to be implemented without the need of recompiling the user interface code. • Came out with a unique way of detecting when a unit under test is properly inserted on its pneumatic test fixture that potentially can cause damage when not inserted properly. This was done by measuring the current consumption of an air pump pushing air through a small slot and this slot was covered by the unit under test only at proper insertion.• Develop a Statistical Process Control website using an SQL server database. This identified real time changes on the manufacturing process and helped with the fast identification of wrong or faulty parts thus reducing product re-work. Show less
