The ASUU Student Services Board at the University of Utah identifies available services and resources that could be used to enrich students' college experience and collaborates with the leaders of those campus offices to identify ways to increase student attendance and the effectiveness of their material.As Director of the Student Services Board, I manage a team of three in maintaining relationships with local business owners to provide discounts for students, by helping faculty and clubs in launching successful week-long events, and by advancing any bills or efforts that will provide a service to students. Our board also identifies on-campus resources that could benefit students and we have them promoted through the weekly @TheU newsletters.As an Associate Director I fostered and maintained relationships with Salt Lake City businesses like retail stores, theaters, etc. and negotiated twenty-five exclusive student discounts and promotional deals during the span of September 2016 to January 2017.Accomplishments as Associate Director- Passed a bill with the University Center for Student Wellness to allocate $16,000 for flu shot vaccines for 2016-2017.- Partnered with twenty-five businesses to promote exclusive deals and discounts for students.Goals as Director for Fall 2017 - Spring 2018- Allocate twenty new exclusive deals and discounts with restaurants and grocery stores.- Assist The Food Pantry in its operations and in building a successful program schedule that will increase student awareness of its services.- Work with The Professional Career & Development Center in increasing student turnout in its office and events (Career/Job Fairs).- Pass a new bill with the Center for Student Wellness for flu shot vaccines.
